The University of Ibadan Dog Show organized by the Students of Veterinary Medicine was a huge success yesterday and there was a large turn out of lovely dogs, dog lovers and breeders at the event.

The event was sponsored by Dr. Tessy, Jojo, Truthmiles, Durante, Dr Fiss...etc. The MC was TunAkinS of TAS paired with Olaide. DJ was AY Fresh and the judges comprised of Professional Vets & Breeders.

Guests present were: Hon. Comm. of Agric & Rural Dev.; Director, Vet Services; Dog World Nigeria; KPMG Nig; TunAkinS of TAS and of course Dog Affairs Blog.

Hi Friend,

My name is Nick Vujicic and I am thankful to have been born 30 years ago with no arms and no legs. I won’t pretend my life is easy, but through the love of my parents, loved ones, and faith in God, I have overcome my adversity and my life is now filled with joy and purpose. I reside now in California with my wife, Kanae, and we both love seeing people’s lives changed for the better or touched in some way. It is my hope that your life is positively impacted by my story.

I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, and it was a shock to my parents that I arrived without limbs. There is no medical reason for it. My parents did their very best to keep me in the mainstream school system and give me every opportunity to live to the fullest. I was blessed to have a brother and a sister as my best friends too.

13 dog breeds are now banned, 12 more are lined up!

January 2013 - Denmark has one of the most strict dog breed bans in the world. 13 breeds were already banned and 12 more are lined up, making it a total of 25 breeds to be banned in the near future.

The discussion in Denmark went totally out of hand. While reports surfaced that despite the current ban, the number of dog bites have increased and the ban is therefore not working, politicians and media ignored the facts and called for more breeds to be banned. When vets are reluctant to euthanize healthy animals just because they are part of breed, politicians called upon people to practice "do-it-yourself" euthanasia. This message was corrected, yet it shows the sentiment that is present in the country and the horror dogs and dog owners in Denmark are living in.

Shakespeare onces wrote "something is rotten in the state of Denmark". Some hundreds of years later he is proven right. A lot of Danes are against the law and cry out in protest of this outrage. Help the Danes to stop this madness in their country, and let them return to the civilized world once more, states the following petition.
